How to Moderate Comments (Method 1 – As Channel Owner Proxy)

Updated on April 8, 2019 (due Youtube changes).

This method describes how to moderate comments by logging into the SW Youtube account essentially acting as Stuart Scott’s proxy.

  • Login to Youtube and click on “Sign In”.
  • Enter Stuart’s login credentials.
  • Once on the channel’s page click on the Scientists Warning logo in the upper right and choose “Youtube Studio (Beta)” in the drop-down menu. A window will appear on the left which will have two menus. The upper menu can be scrolled.
  • Scroll down on the top left hand menu and Click “Comments”.
  • In the right hand window labelled “Comments” at the top left hand side you will observe three tabs below labelled “Published comments”, “Held for review”, and “Likely spam”.  Below the tabs you will also observe a search box on the left and a drop down menu on the right labelled “All videos”. Clicking on this tab will allow to choose to focus on one particular video if you wish. Leaving it as “All videos” will allow you see the comments for all the videos on the channel.
  • Click on the “Held for review” tab to moderate new comments and use Stuart Scott’s Rubric on which to base your moderating decisions.
