Discussions will delve into the challenges and innovations in food production, distribution, and consumption that are key to building resilient, sustainable, and equitable food systems.

Raya Salter
Raya Salter is an attorney, activist, and educator specializing in energy and climate justice. A member of the New York State Climate Action Council, she has testified before the US Congress and advises national policymakers on equitable climate and energy transitions. Through Facing Future TV, she brings global audiences critical discussions from the UN climate negotiations spotlighting frontline and Indigenous voices. She is Executive Director of the Energy Justice Law and Policy Center.
John D. Liu
John D. Liu is a journalist, filmmaker, ecologist whose work documenting the restoration of China’s Loess Plateau has helped to show that it is possible to restore natural ecological systems rather than simply accept their loss.
John is currently Ecosystem Ambassador for the COMMONLAND FOUNDATION which has been pioneering privately invested ecosystem restoration around the world. John also is the founder of the Ecosystem Restoration Camps Movement that has together with many partners created 56 Ecosystem Restoration Camps throughout the world.
John has produced, filmed, written, directed, and presented dozens of films on Environment and Ecology that have aired on the BBC, National Geographic, Discovery, PBS, and other networks. Most of John’s published and broadcast works are collected here. Several of John’s films are featured on Ecoflix.
Isaias Hernandez
Isaias Hernandez is an educator and creative devoted to improving environmental literacy through content creation, storytelling, and public engagements.
Isaias has been featured in Vogue, New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, and Yale Climate Communications. His social media advocacy earned him recognition as a top climate creator by Harvard C-CHANGE. As a speaker, he’s presented for New York Times, Nike, Environmental Media Association, Billie Eilish’s Overheated Summit, Harvard University, Deloitte, and more. He recently co-produced the Symbjocene event series in London and New York City.
Willem Ferwerda
Willem Ferwerda is Founder and CEO of Commonland, a nonprofit foundation that supports local actors to develop long-term solutions at a landscape scale on biodiversity, carbon, regenerative agriculture, business and communities in more than 20 countries.
A former director of IUCN Netherlands, he was awarded the Wubbo Ockels Brandaris Oeuvre Prize, for perseverance, imagination, and dedication to building a sustainable society and the Dutch Sustainable Landscape Award. He was chosen for first place in the Sustainable 100 in the Netherlands, the list of Dutch people with the most influence on the environment and sustainability.
