Stuart Scott — Update We wanted to write to you all one last time in 2019 to wish everyone a holiday season of contentment. That is the single best gift we can receive, to be happy with who we are and what we’ve been given in life. The Scientists Warning team was well represented at COP25, and we rented a townhouse together to facilitate our working on the project of producing the TV programs we had planned. Remarkably, Stuart Scott was able to be involved actively for the entire time, despite his cancer situation. Together with the team, we turned out 11 programs, only about half of which are on the ScientistsWarning.TV YouTube channel so far. Here is a list of titles and links to the programs, plus a link to Greta Thunberg’s Plenary Intervention.
We are in need of an experienced video editor to help with the programs from COP25, which have yet to be edited. We have also made the decision to hold off publishing additional videos until after the Holidays since the ‘bad news’ about climate change does not go well with the season. Finally, in the spirit of holiday giving, Stuart will be continuing his conventional cancer treatments at the Mayo Clinic and alternative treatments at home. Both are tending to be on the expensive side. So we are again sharing this link to the GoFundMe page for Stuart’s healing. https://www.gofundme.com/manage/fund-for-stuart039s-healing We would like to express appreciation to all who are helping Stuart with his personal health challenge so that he can attend COP26 next year, continue to engage in the bigger battle to awaken humanity to the threat of climate change, and to taking personal and collective action. The COP25 Team COP25 was held at the IFEMA conference center in Madrid, which is located in the northeast area of the city. The team consisted of the following members: Patrick Lincoln, Regina Valdez, Charles Gregoire, Heidi Brault, Carlos Fulgêncio, and Cynthia de Wolf who all travelled to Madrid to support Stuart. Dr. Peter Carter, IPCC Expert Reviewer, and Paul Beckwith, climate system scientist, also travelled to Madrid to help Stuart and produced their own series of programs, which will be posted on the SW Youtube channel later on. We were also very fortunate to have the assistance of Alfonso Soria Perez, a local activist and resident of Madrid. Also crucial to our efforts were Rob Harding, Brian McGavin, Sabrina Islam and our Video editing team who were not able to travel to the event. Short Video — Evidence of Hope: Yaeda Valley Here’s the link to a short film by our friend and ally, Tasha Goldberg. It’s a good effort to remind us that indigenous peoples got it right, and we should be learning from them and not wiping them out as our current gonzo economic system is doing. It is not the same tone or temperament as the videos we usually publish, and it adds yet another layer of meaning to the complex word ‘hope’. But we hope you will watch and enjoy it, and share it if you like it.
